Super spice up your Chili
Chili is a cookout king. Everyone has their own twist with special recipes or techniques. We just want you to consider adding ginger ale, beer, red wine, whiskey or dark rum. And don’t forget about bacon, it can never hurt any dish. For the whiskey or scotch you only need a few ounces to enhance the flavor, plus it is always good to brag that you have booze in your cooking.
Here is a boozy, bacon chili recipe we tried
1 lb bacon, crisped – 2 Tablespoons of bacon fat reserved
2 cups finely chopped onions
1 Green Pepper
We have all been there, long hot day and you are ready for a beer. Crack open only to taste skunked beer. Many thoughts go through the mind, why did this happen? Can I drink this beer? Should I drink this beer?
Skunked beer typically refers to any beer gone bad. But many traditionalist feel that “skunked beer” refers specifically to beer that was over exposed to sunlight. An easy way to do a test is leave a beer in the sunlight for just a few hours and you will be able to taste the skunked flavor.
This is why most beer is sold in brown bottles or cans. Cans truly are the best vessel for beer because aluminum recycles so well. Recycling places will actually give you money for empty beer cans.
Yes, you can drink the skunked beer, it is just up to you whether you want to or not. I suggest you chalked it up as a learning experience. Cheers.
